Timothy Locke, Ph.D.

Pastoral Counselor

Psychotherapy that Honors Your Spiritual Life

I work with individuals, couples and families in Napa, California.

I specialize in work with couples to discover the “We” in their partnership and find new vitality in their life together.

I offer counseling that honors the connection between healthy spirituality and well-being in other areas of life.

I welcome and respect clients from all faith traditions as well as those who do not have a religious affiliation.

Office interior

My office is easy to find at 2337 2nd Street, Napa, CA.

Private pay, sliding scale available. I accept cash, checks, Visa and MasterCard.

Everyone needs support now and then to discover and act on what best serves our connections with loved ones. This includes how we treat ourselves.

Seeking help is a responsible way to deal with persistent conflict or emotional pain.

I help people recover their initiative, their dignity and their sense of connection. I help partners listen and be heard.

I help people find life after loss.

I assist people who want to bring more light into their inner world so that they can express their gifts more fully.

I am a certified Fellow in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors and an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA). I have been in practice for over 20 years. My training includes degrees from Princeton Theological Seminary and the Claremont School of Theology, and residencies in counseling and in hospital chaplaincy. I worked closely with R. Rangaramanujam Ayyangar, who was a colleague of Mahatma Gandhi, and with Dr. Elizabeth Howes, who studied with C. G. Jung. My doctoral dissertation was on contemporary applications of Kunkel’s We Psychology. Kunkel was a pioneer in transpersonal psychology whose ideas about our creative center and egocentricity continue to inform my work with clients.
